The Association of Restaurateurs and Hoteliers of Amatrice expresses its deepest condolences for the passing of Giovanni Cortellese, a historic chef of Amatrice and a much-loved figure in our community.
Giovanni was not only a great professional and master of Amatrician cuisine, but also a constant point of reference for colleagues, friends, and fellow citizens. He was always present at our city’s events and generous in passing down the culinary tradition that represents us.
To Giovanni’s family — his wife Elvira, his children Francesca and Daniele, his grandchildren, and all who loved him — we extend our heartfelt sympathy and our closeness in this time of great sorrow.
